Take me out to the Ballgame

The summer plans have started. And I am ready to live it up this summer.

Outdoor baseball is first and foremost on the list. Due to my kickass job and boss ; Dru and I and our friends Byrd and Lorayne will be enjoying one of summers' favorite pastimes at the Target Field in Minneapolis on June 27th watching the Twins play the Dodgers.

Take me out to the ballgame, buy me some beers, and more beers and maybe a hot dog....I don't know if ill ever go back.....Or something like that.

Games are the best way to spend a night outdoors with great friends in the City. I am more than excited to go to the game.

Game ON!

Where I Admit That I was Wrong

The weekends are all about catching up on life and trying to keep my house in order. Yesterday I was feeling productive after a lazy Saturday and decided to clean out the winter from my car.
These 2 are Always Lazy!

Does your car get all "wintery"? You know, the dirt, salt and nastiness from it being too damn cold to care about how dirty your feet are when you get in the car. And too cold to throw trash away because your hands are full and you will do it next time you get out of the car? *can you tell I am a little neurotic about having a clean car? I don't know how I am ever going to survive having kids with grimy hands. I might have to get a mom mobile (Van) when we have kids and then never ever look into the back of my car if I can help it.

So anyways, I decided to pull my car out of the garage to vacuum and clean it head to toe. This mission was accomplished without freezing my ass off even though I had on sweats and slippers, so spring IS on its way.

Sidenote: my "Service Required" light had come on earlier in the week, and I ever so kindly reminded my husband that the oil needed to be changed. I even said it nicely...This point will be relevant for the rest of the saga.

My car was clean and I was ready to pull her back into the garage while I went inside and got myself pretty for a trip to Target and a work delivery that I needed to make.

"clickclickclick.............goes my car.....A horrible noise and all the lights are now lighting up on my dashboard.

I immediately started to curse Dru. OF course my car ran out of f'n oil...HE BROKE IT...This was all Dru's fault, because he hadn't promptly taken my car to the oil service place on Monday when I said that the light had come on. Right?

I even took out the service book. Read through it and determined for myself that I was indeed out of oil. I opened the hood, checked the oil (I didn't do this right) and was even more mad. I called my daddy, because he was 2000 miles away and would be able to diagnose my car troubles over the phone? Right? I was completely logical with my thinking that Dru had broke my car. Even though he was at work and I was at home with the car.

At least I know how to open the hood?

If you know me at all, you know that I am pretty self sufficient. I like to know how to do most things, and I pride myself on not being "girly"...I can do most things that men can do, and knowing that my car is out of oil is one thing that I should know how to do. Well it turns out I don't know EVERYTHING.

I called Dru at work and was a little bit bitchy. I informed him that I had places to go and that my car wouldn't start because it was out of oil. He told me to wait until he got home to deal with it...I was mad, but I went inside to watch a marathon of Teen Mom 2 on MTV...Complete waste of my afternoon I must say.

Dru got home and I met him at the door with a determined look on my face. He asked for my keys and told me to start the car so he could hear the noise. I tried to start the car and got the same click....click....click.....

"Your Battery is DEAD" is what comes out of my adorable husband's mouth - I then looked down and saw that my lights were on and probably had been for a few days...My car is a 2007 and has automatic lights. I am an IDIOT and WRONG.....Insert tail between legs and walk away.

Sunday Getting to know YOU-Or Me?

Trying something new...I have been failing at keeping up on this blog lately. So I have decided to join in on MannLand5's (Keely) "Getting to know YOU" Sunday....

1. what inspires you?
People that do amazing things for others. I wish that I could just drop everything and be able to help others.

2. what was the last thing you bought yourself?
I just purchased a new pair of running shoes from Amazon...When they arrive I will get back to my gym routine. My shoes SUCK and they are not comfortable at all.

3. would you rather watch a movie in a theater or from the comfort of your own home?
I think that I am leaning towards the theater. I tend to fall asleep at home and never know what happens at the end of the movie.

4. household chore you don't mind doing?
I enjoy running the vacuum. I like to see the floor clean after I go over it with the vacuum, until the kitties or the husband dirty it up again.

5. coffee or tea?
Both. I am drinking coffee right now but I try to drink tea throughout the day.

6. what could you eat every day and not get sick of??
Probably a grilled cheese sand. There are so many different ways to make them and they are always yummy unless someone burns the bread, and then they are icky...

7. what's the last book you read?
I finished Jodi Picoult's newest book the week it came out. Lately I have been reading a book for a new book club that I joined. I have to finish it today!

8. do you think you look you "look" your age?
I think so. I did get i'd the other day when buying wine...But I am only 24 so that's okay.

A vacation from my vacation

I have so much to say and no time to say it right now so I will leave you with some great photos from the past weekend and post later...

The good news is that my suitcase is home happy and safe in my living room. Delta tracked it down in Atlanta and delivered directly to my front door this afternoon.

The view from my hotel room balcony.

A Rant

1. Delta lost my bag
2. I look like a bright red tomato
3. Sunday night at 1054pm means that the work week beings much too soon for my liking
4. Did I mention Delta lost my bag?
5. It is cold in Minnesota.
5. I don't have any wine in the house and it's Sunday-which means wine cannot be purchased at this point in time.
6. I have 2 number 5's and am too lazy to fix it.

Tomorrows pictures will tell the story a little better. This is all I can put in words because I am tired.

Jealous?

I am normally not the jealous type. I know that my husband loves me and would never ever do anything to betray me; like cheating....

It's not him that I worry about.

Now that "the bearded one" is gone, Dru is back to his sexy self. Yes my husband is sexy, and I may not be the only one who thinks so.

Yesterday we went out and about to run some errands, and ended up at his place of employment. I am not going to say where he works, but there are a lot of employees at this place and you interact with people often.

Well as we were getting ready to leave the place there was this "girl"...Yes I am going to call her a girl even though we are probably now classified as women since we are over the age of 12. Not the point! She was pretty, blonde and overly flirty with my husband. MY husband. And I was standing right next to him. Not once did she ask Dru who I was, or "is this your wife"...nada, nothing. Just went right along joking and flirting with him.

I was annoyed. And even more annoyed that she is probably worse when I am not around. Good thing I looked damn good yesterday. I had gotten my hair done yesterday and I wasn't wearing my normal attire of sweatpants.

So I asked Dru about this girl throughout the rest of the night. More than once. I said that she is flirty, blah, blah. I wasn’t being rude or telling him to not talk to her. I just wanted to know her story. Does she know that you are married? YES...Oh really I said. How? She and I are FACEBOOK friends.

WHAT? Okay so not only does this girl know that we are married, she also knows what I look like. You interact with her on Facebook...She has seen our pictures? Hold Up!

Okay so maybe I am a little bit jealous. I am still thinking about this the next day and it happened yesterday.

Problem is, I don't even know her name so I can't Facebook stalk her!

Oh well, at least I know that I have myself a hott sexy man that she wants and can't have. I don't think that jealousy fits me well so I am over it, until I see her next time...

It Hurts So Good?

I have pain. A different kind of pain than what I experienced the past year, a pain that actually feels good.

My friend Tanja convinced me to join the local gym. She has been pestering me to do it for almost 2 weeks until I finally signed up yesterday. Yesterday I enjoyed a short little cardio workout, and today we met at the gym at 8am to workout together.

It feels so good to feel good enough to workout again. To actually want to go to the gym and regain the muscle and body strength that I used to have. I want my body to be fit and able, and I can't wait to feel the results.

But...I might have overdone it and feel like my leg wants to detach from my torso. I don't know how I did what I did, but I need a serious massage stretch session. My left leg is hurting, almost like a nerve where it attaches to my pelvis is very unhappy with me.

I am not complaining and am taking this as a sign that my body needs to workout. I am just hoping that the pain is gone in the am :)

I am going to the sun this week. Somewhere warm and happy....Can you guess where?
